Jaipur the capital city of Rajasthan, northern India was founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh and has a population of 5 million. It is India's first planned city set out on a grid system that wraps around the central palace called, 'Hawa Mahai' 'Palace of winds' encompassing formal gardens and a small lake.
